The International History Bee and Bowl held its third annual European Championships on 23-25 May at St. Stephen’s School in Rome, Italy. 36 teams competed (up from 12 in 2013!) in a great weekend of fun and competition. A big thank you to Eric Mayer, Paul Treherne, and everyone at St. Stephen’s for coordinating the hosting arrangements, as well as to all coaches, parents, and helpers who assisted throughout the weekend with reading and scorekeeping. Thanks to all who attended for a great weekend, and for all your support throughout the 2013-14 year! We’re already looking forward to 2014-15, and have been visiting with schools in France, England, Scotland, Italy, Austria, and Slovakia in May as we look ahead to next year. 2014-15 will see the debut of the International History Olympiad; new tournaments in Ireland, Scotland, Slovakia, and possibly elsewhere; and the debut of a second set of regional questions – giving everyone two chances to qualify for the European Championships and the History Olympiad.

Congratulations to the 2014 European Champions of the International History Bee and Bowl!
