Since early August, IHBB Executive Directors, David and Nolwenn Madden have been visiting schools throughout Asia, as we gear up for a major expansion of our Asian tournaments for the 2013-14 school year. So far, we have met with teachers, students, and administrators from over 100 schools throughout South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, and Malaysia. We have been thoroughly gratified and excited by the response we have received in every country which we have visited, and are eagerly anticipating introducing our history quiz tournaments to thousands of new students across Asia this year. Dates and host sites have already been found for our tournaments in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok, and we anticipate lining up our remaining tournaments by the end of September. We are also excited to announce the relaunch of our Asian Division website at www.ihbbasia.com, which will be online by September 10.
From our current location in Kuala Lampur, we will be moving on to Singapore on September 7, then on to Sri Lanka on September 14. Then, on September 22, it’s off to Europe. We’ll be visiting schools in England and Germany during the latter part of the month, and then onwards to France and Switzerland during the first two weeks of October. All of this will lead to an exciting set of tournaments for 2013-2014 around the world! A big thank you to everyone with whom we have met so far, and we’re looking forward to all of our remaining visits on our trip!
